“From the very beginning, they baked security into everything they did. And they give you a cost model built for the cloud.” – Award Judges

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – August 29, 2019 – Clumio, innovator of authentic SaaS for enterprise backup, today announced that it has been awarded TechTarget’s SearchServerVirtualization.com “Best of Show 2019” and the “Gold Winner” in the Data Protection category at VMworld.

The “Best of VMworld 2019 U.S.” Awards recognize the most innovative new products in the server virtualization, cloud, and end-user computing markets. An independent team of judges consisting of experts and editors from SearchServerVirtualization.com reviewed and evaluated 75 products for innovation, value, performance, reliability, and ease of use. The awards cover the following six categories of the virtualization market: Virtualization and Cloud Infrastructure Platform, Agile Operations, Automation and DevOps, Networking, Data Protection, Security Digital Workspace and Best of Show.

Clumio was the VMworld Best of Show winner, representing the best of the best and was chosen among the winners of the previous categories. Judges commented, “From the very beginning, they baked security into everything they did. And they give you a cost model built for the cloud.”

In addition, Clumio was the winner in the Data Protection category, which recognizes software products or cloud services — such as disaster recovery as a service — that are designed to backup, restore and replicate data and/or achieve fault tolerance in a virtual server or cloud infrastructure. Judges for the Data Protection category commented that “They [Clumio] take security in backup seriously.”

Clumio is a secure, backup as a service that consolidates the protection of an enterprise data center and any remote sites with no hardware or software to size, configure, manage – or even buy at all. As enterprises move aggressively to cloud, they can use Clumio to protect workloads like VMware Cloud on AWS and native AWS services. Authentic SaaS protects data regardless of where it resides and delivers these benefits to the enterprise:

  • Easy to Manage
  • Predictable Costs
  • Scale On-Demand
  • Global Compliance
  • Always-on Security

“We are honored to be named VMworld “Best of Show 2019” as well as the Gold Winner in the Data Protection category,” said Poojan Kumar, founder and CEO of Clumio. “The Clumio service  leverages the scale and elasticity of the public cloud to dynamically meet the changing data protection needs of the enterprise. Customers are stating that SaaS backup is a strategic element of their cloud strategies as it empowers their  IT teams to focus on strategic business priorities, instead of the mundane tasks of managing backup and restore infrastructure.”

Earlier this month, Clumio announced its official launch with $51M in funding.
