My Favorite Job Ever

For many, the journey of applying to your dream job and getting hired can be a months-long odyssey. For me? Four rounds of interviews and an offer received within a month, with responses from the company never taking longer than 48 hours! I was impressed with Clumio even before I hit the floor.

I remember interviewing for other positions and feeling overwhelmed and confused. Little did I know that when interviewing with Clumio, I would not be the only one giving the answers. Despite being a startup, the hiring process here was simple, transparent, and remarkably streamlined. An added benefit of simply interviewing with Clumio is getting feedback after every round! Rather than grilling me, they groomed me for success at every opportunity.

The interview rounds involved technical questions related to Networking/ Security, Troubleshooting on Linux/Windows, my previous experience with Jira, SQL, and most importantly Cloud technologies and AWS. There was also a behavioral evaluation to find the best fit for the team. From my technical rounds to the final round with the Vice President, I became completely sure that I wanted to be a part of the Clumio team.

At my onboarding, the HR team ensured my effortless conversion into becoming a Clumian with great swag to proudly sport. But there is so much more to being a Clumian! You are not just a cog in the wheel. The structure of the company allows each employee to wear multiple hats, gain insights into the workings of other teams, and advance their personal and professional development. There is never a day where one doesn’t have something new that they can learn and apply.

At Clumio, your impact is limited only by your imagination and willingness to proactively engage with others. Each position requires dynamic interdepartmental engagement. The first few months for me were like drinking straight from the firehose! In less than half a year I had worked with every team within the company, relying heavily on their input and vice versa. I rode the wave with the bloodlines of Clumio, i.e. Sales and Marketing during the AWS Summits and other pre-sales calls.

The backbone of Clumio are the Engineering and Product teams, composed of some of the smartest folks I have ever met. I have had the privilege of working with them during Early access launches of our products and events like our ‘Clumio Ideathon’ where the teams collaborated together to present ideas that could improve the product, make user experience even better, or help make support more efficient.

Last but certainly not the least, I have had a lot of  interaction with our customers. Almost all roles at Clumio are customer facing in one way or another. This aspect of the job gives you a sense of ownership, as you are the voice of the customer. Daily tasks like resolving technical issues, feature requests, bug fixes, onboarding and more, provide an in-depth understanding of the Cloud backup domain and the needs of its target audience.

As a Clumian we don’t just clock out at the end of the day. We have been heard, improved, and contributed directly to the company’s success. We have a small but mighty team that takes “success and support” literally, not just for our customers, but for our teammates as well.
