Clumio Newsletter – May 2022

How BioPlus Simplified Their Ransomware Protection and HIPAA Compliance
The healthcare industry’s stringent compliance requirements in ensuring patient data is secure and protected can add cumbersome administrative overhead for IT departments. They must also consider a more robust level of data protection since the sensitive nature of patient data makes it highly valuable to cyber attackers. Join Fred Gagle, VP of Technology at BioPlus Specialty Pharmacy, and Jeff Lackey, Systems Engineer at Clumio, to learn what BioPlus is doing to ensure patient data is secure and resilient, and how Clumio is helping.
Thank you, SF! Next Stops: Atlanta and Washington DC
San Francisco really got backup and running in style at the AWS Summit in Moscone Center. In addition to connecting with the crowds and showing off our new DynamoDB data protection service, we drew the first winner of a Sony Playstation 5 in our Clumio + AWS Summits Winning Combination promotion – congratulations to Anil M. in Texas! And we’re gearing up to do it again in Atlanta and Washington DC. You could be the next winner!
ICYMI – Amazon DynamoDB: Harness The Power, Protect the Data
Last month, Amazon DynamoDB Senior Go-to-Market Specialist, Gautham Shanmugam, joined Clumio’s VP of Product, Chadd Kenney, and VP of Engineering, Kaustubh Patil, to chat about how this powerful database service is being leveraged to power performance in modern, cloud-native applications. They shared tips for optimizing performance and discussed how to ensure DynamoDB is fully protected from disasters and attacks.
Introducing Clumio Protect for Amazon DynamoDB
While DynamoDB provides Point in Time Recovery (PITR) via configuration in its tables, and recovery via manual snapshots of the entire database, enterprise customers can benefit from more comprehensive data protection for their DynamoDB data. Clumio Protect provides air-gapped ransomware protection, incremental long-term retention, granular recovery, and more. Contact your account team for a customized demo.
What We’re Reading
The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Information Security published their Health Sector Cybersecurity: 2021 Retrospective and 2022 Look Ahead report recently. It leads off with “Cybercriminals and nation-states have engaged in cyberattacks against healthcare organizations for years. What is different about today? What will we have to be concerned with tomorrow?” And only gets better from there.

“Clumio has simplified the day-to-day task of backup and data management. This allowed me to focus more on other exciting tasks and projects.”
